BMS recently completed the installation of its Stormbreaker surface water attenuation system, which prevents flooding on sealed surfaces such as car parks by forming an artificial void underneath, at the new St. Mel's Cathedral Cathedral Car Park, Longford in the run up to the Cathedrals rededication this month after its award winning restoration.
St. Mel's Cathedral, Longford was tragically gutted by a fire on Christmas day 2009. An extensive refurbishment has since taking place resulting in reopening of the Cathedral for Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve 2015, five years to the day of the fire; a magnificent achievement. Some great pictures of the refurbishment can be found at the following link. A new over flow car park is being constructed to handled the traffic associated with the Cathedral. BMS were selected to supply all the surface water treatment products to the project; namely 243 m3 of Stormbreaker, 1 No BMS PBS 3 Class 1 Bypass Interceptor and 1 No. BMS 6 l/s Stormbrake Flow Control. The Stormbreaker was wrapped in an impermeable sealed geomembrane. BMS supplied design advise, drawings, supplied all of the products and installed the Stormbreaker system via our nominated subcontractor.
BMS who celebrate 29 years manufacturing in Longford this year can supply a 'one stop shop' for all surface water requirements from design to installation including attenuation, infiltration, holding tanks, vortex silt seperators, pumps and pump sumps, petrol/oil seperator's of all sizes and flow control valves. The Class leading Stormbreaker was developed in BMS and is manufactured in Longford. It is by far the strongest certified attenuation system available and allows maintenance free installations. This is a very important consideration for a product who's design life is 50 years +.
